Technicians and contractors on the Treasure Coast

Port St. Lucie Garage Door books garage door work across Port St. Lucie, St. Lucie County and Martin County, Florida and sends it to local people who do it properly. Two kinds of people are worth a conversation.

The shape of it

Homeowners from Vero Beach to Hobe Sound call this site when a spring lets go or a door needs replacing. The site books the visit; independent local contractors do the work and hire their own crews. So there are two routes in: running a contracting business that wants booked appointments, or being a technician or installer looking for a crew to join.

If you run a garage door business

What arrives from us is a scheduled appointment with a homeowner who has a real fault or a real project, not a cold lead. In return we expect the appointment kept, the door lifted and diagnosed before a price is named, the price written down before any work starts, and the garage left clean. Before sending a first job we look at your safety record, especially around torsion springs, your general liability and workers' compensation certificates, and, for anyone installing doors, the Florida state license the permit requires now that the City of Port St. Lucie's own registration has ended. Write to hello@portstluciegaragedoor.com with the business name, the towns you cover and a copy of the certificate of insurance.

If you want crew work

The contractors we work with tend to be short of three kinds of people: technicians who can diagnose and replace springs, cables, rollers and openers without hurting themselves or the door; installers who can hang a wind-rated door to its product approval and set the struts and brackets the rating calls for; and someone who can measure an opening, read a label and write an honest scope. Expect to be asked about your torsion-spring experience, whether you have a vehicle and hand tools, and whether you are comfortable on a ladder in a hot garage in August. We pass your details to contractors who are hiring.

Getting in touch

Email hello@portstluciegaragedoor.com with "Crew" or "Contractor" in the subject line, a few lines on what you have done and where you can work, and the best number to reach you. No résumé is needed to begin; a call to (772) 303-4314 works too. Nobody is ever charged to be considered or listed. If someone asks you for money to get on a list in our name, it is not us.

Door jammed, spring gone, opener silent?

A technician can usually be at a Port St. Lucie, Fort Pierce or Stuart address the same day. You hear the price first, and new-door quotes are free.
