LegalTerms of service
Two short lists: what you can rely on from us, and what we ask from you, when you book garage door work through this site.
Current as of October 2026.
What you can count on
- The written figure is the price. Ranges on this site are 2026 planning figures for Port St. Lucie, St. Lucie County and Martin County, Florida. A repair costs what the technician writes down at your house before starting, and a new door or opener costs what the itemized quote says, for the 30 days it is valid. Until you approve a quote it binds nobody.
- Insured people do the work. Jobs booked here are carried out by independent technicians and contractors who hold general liability and workers' compensation coverage. A copy of the certificate is available before the visit.
- Permitted work goes through a state-licensed contractor. Florida does not license garage door repair as such. New doors and full replacements are permitted jobs, and since July 1, 2023, under House Bill 735, the City of Port St. Lucie no longer issues its own garage door license, so the installing contractor holds a Florida state license through the Department of Business and Professional Regulation and pulls the permit under it.
- Permit, rating and approval are shown as their own lines. The quote names the authority, the permit cost, the design pressure the door is specified to and its Florida Product Approval, and any association submittal. The Florida Building Code, the permitting office and your community's documents govern over anything on this site.
- Payment is plain. Repairs are paid when the door is working, by card, check or bank transfer. A custom or impact-rated door may need a deposit at ordering, stated on the quote, with the balance after installation and inspection.
What we ask of you
- Leave the springs, cables and brackets alone. They hold hundreds of pounds of force. Nothing on this site is an instruction to adjust or remove them, and we take no responsibility for injury or damage from attempts to do so.
- Read the site as general information. It describes garage doors and the rules that apply to them on the Treasure Coast. It is not an engineering opinion, a wind-load determination for your opening, legal advice or a permit decision for your property.
- Tell us about gates, pets and parked cars. The technician needs to get to the door and needs it clear on both sides.
- Keep the agreement you sign. The warranty on parts and workmanship is the one written into the invoice or quote from the contractor doing the work, with the manufacturer's own terms on top. This page does not add to or take from it.
- Ask when something is unclear. Codes, fees, grant rules and policies change. If a figure or a rule on this site looks out of date, call (772) 303-4314 or write to hello@portstluciegaragedoor.com and we will check it and correct it.
